In 2009, after 10+ years in the corporate sector spanning new ventures and high-growth businesses as well as turnarounds, Andreas Bodczek was keen to embark on his entrepreneurial journey. Around the same time, Team Europe had incubated a promising idea and was searching for a team that could help realize its potential. The timing was perfect and it allowed Andreas to combine his business development, strategic expansion and financial management experience with Team Europe’s expertise in business model development, company building and financing. Andreas joined SponsorPay in May that year as founding CEO.
Armed with an MBA from the Munich School of Management, Andreas started his career at Bertelsmann mediaWays. After a period as Managing Director of Telefonica UK, Andreas became CEO of Telefonica Germany where he was responsible for the nationwide wholesale and B2B broadband business. Here, he oversaw the successful post-merger integration with O2 Germany.
Upon completing his successful stint with Telefonica, Andreas worked with private equity and venture capital investors on entrepreneurial endeavors. These soon led him to Team Europe who teamed up with Jan Beckers, Janis Zech and Andreas to establish SponsorPay. Team Europe helped fuel the company’s initial growth by tapping into its vast network of contacts towards the acquisition of initial publisher and advertiser partners.
SponsorPay has since grown rapidly to become the industry leader in Europe and among the top three worldwide.
